The Museum of the History of Medicine of the University of Ioannina was founded in 1995 and was inaugurated on May 31, 2018. It houses objects that reflect the development of Greek medicine over the centuries.

More than 20,000 items are exhibited in its 14 spaces, housed in 750 square meters, in the overhead-lit basement of the ISI building, under the atrium.

Items on medicine in antiquity, Dioscorides depictions of plants, medicinal plants and herbs of the present day, a small chapel with images of 65 doctors and 12 saints, coins, banknotes, medical cartoons and a complete collection of 450 Greek stamps with medical themes are among other exhibits in the collection of the Museum of the History of Medicine of the University of Ioannina.
